History of Grama Panchayat
The historic Nedumkotta, which once marked the boundary between the old kingdoms of Thekkumkoor and Vadakkumkoor, passes through most of the wards of this Panchayat. The ancient Ramamangalam Perumthrikkovil Temple traces its origins back to the reign of Cheraman Perumal. Historical traditions state that Cheraman Perumal, who is believed to have embraced Islam and traveled to Mecca, was responsible for the construction of this temple. Dedicated to Bala Narasimha, the temple was once a renowned center of music and temple arts, flourishing with great prestige and cultural significance.
